2026 Garden-Tool Import Compliance: Battery Passports, CBAM, Section 301 and UKCA — What Your B2B Account Needs

2026 has reshuffled the global garden-tool supply chain. EU CBAM, new US Section 301 tariff brackets and the EU Battery Regulation all hit B2B importers at the same time. Here is how we are helping partners stay ahead.

1. EU Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542)

From 18 February 2026, every battery placed on the EU market needs a digital battery passport, declared carbon footprint and verified due diligence on raw materials. We pre-emptively switched our 18V cell sourcing to ICCT-certified suppliers in 2025, and we generate the EU digital passport CSV automatically with every shipment.

2. EU CBAM transition

Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism reporting is now mandatory for steel and aluminium imports. We provide the CN-codes and emissions data your customs broker needs in a single CBAM-ready PDF — no extra fee.

3. US Section 301 garden-tool reclassifications

Several HTS codes for cordless garden equipment moved from List 3 (25%) to List 4A (15%) in March 2026. If you import to the US, our shipping team flags applicable changes per shipment. Worth a 3-minute review for any partner with US accounts.

4. UK CE/UKCA dual labelling

The UKCA 2026 deadline is now confirmed for 31 December — after that, UK-only stock needs UKCA only. We support dual-label packaging at no upcharge through Q4 2026, then UKCA-only with EU/UK split SKU codes from January 2027.

5. What it means for your 2026 RFQ

Lock in pricing for Q3/Q4 2026 by mid-summer if you import to the EU or UK. Battery component pricing is stable; copper and aluminium have firm but workable forecasts. Steel pricing is the variable to watch.
